Andrew Uselton recently joined Intel's High Performance Data Division as a Performance Engineer for parallel file systems. Andrew's background with High Performance Computing (HPC) and Lustre dates to its inception, when he was on the open source-based HPC team at Lawrence Livermore National Lab. More recently Andrew has been on staff at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing (NERSC) center at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Andrew has a long history of performance evaluation and testing for both parallel file systems and the applications that use them. Andrew's research has emphasized the value of performance monitoring as a way to get a better handle on both the capabilities and failures of application I/O in a production HPC environment.
