Xyratex staffing update

Steve Young has taken over as the development manager for the Xyratex Lustre team. He will be attending CDWG meetings.

Lustre 2.6 Update

Things going well with revised feature freeze at the end of this week. Remaining major planned patches likely to land before feature freeze:

  • 5 patches for LFSK2
  • 3 for DNE2 (without async work)
  • 2 patches for IU work

Fix for RHEL 6.5 mount bug has been landed for RedHat 7. Probably likely to make its way back to land for RHEL6.6.

Roadmap Update

ORNL - end to end checksumming

How do we reset the timeline (we dumped 2.6 schedule by one month).

1.8 client

Meghan asked about community support for Lustre 1.8 clients. Chris clarified that 1.8 has been decided in the past to be too old to be in the purvue of OpenSFS. It was decided that individual companies can support it as they see fit, but OpenSFS would concentrate on more recent versions of Lustre.

Of course, organizations may always discuss their plans and coordinate if they choose to.

Survey Status

Survey was announced, and there was initial good set of responders. Chris will send reminders about the survey a couple of more times, and advertise a hard deadline of mid-March.

Action Items

  • Send email to CDWG with more details about roadmap update. Mention 2.8

will me included in new roadmap slide.
