2.16.0 Release Update

Peter
Testing for newer Linux distros almost there; Ubuntu 24.04 clients building; SLES15 SP6 client patch needs reviews; can Shaun from HPE review?

Cory
Yes

Peter
It is not clear to me what has to land to leave IPv6 in a usable state; it has been over two years since 2.15.0; there are ten patches flagged with the IPv6 topic in Gerrit; should we consider relegating IPv6 to a technology preview so that we can move forward with other development landing?

Chris
Only a subset of those patches that would be needed to provide something usable; the most important thing is to get autotest fully operational for IPv6

Peter
Ok then let's create a new topic to track that content. I will also move non-blocking bugs to 2.17 with a comment for people to speak up if they disagree and feel it must be fixed before we release 2.16.
