DreamHost

Much of OpenSFS's web presence is hosted at DreamHost. We currently employ the DreamHost "Shared Hosting" solution.

The OpenSFS email lists are nominally managed individually through a mailman instance. But the mailman server and control over the "owners" of each individual mailing list are managed through the DreamHost Panel.

Under the menu bar on the left side of the DreamHost Panel page there is a "Mail" heading. Under Mail, you want to select "Discussion Lists" (there is also an "Announce Lists" area, but at this time we have to announcement lists).

Under Mail->Discussion Lists, you can create and delete mailing lists, and also "Edit" the owners of each mailing list.

Owners of lists can access list administrative functions through the standard Mailman admin interface.

The OpenSFS wiki is hosted under our DreamHost account. The MediaWiki software was initially installed by using DreamHosts's One-Click Installs from the DreamHost Control Panel. The same method can be used to upgrade the MediaWiki software.

DreamHost shared-servers work by installing web sites under a single user's account. For the wiki.opensfs.org domain, the user account name is "opensfs_admin" (See "Manage Domains" in the DreamHost Control Panel). If you know the password (which can be reset through the Panel), you may log into opensfs_admin's account on amsterdam.dreamhost.com.

In the opensfs_admin user's home directory there is a directory named after the domain, the full path is: /home/opensfs_admin/www.opensfs.org. The full installation of the MediaWiki software is located under that directory, as well as all of the configuration and data file.

The Functional Test Cluster is a 32-node environment for use with development of OpenSFS funded contracts. Originally commissioned by the Technical Working Group (TWG), the test cluster is hosted at Indiana University. There are 24 compute nodes and 8 nodes with direct attached storage. All nodes have QDR Infiniband connectivity.
