Meeting Frequency

"The Working Group will initially meet at least monthly for the first 6 months and will agree upon the desired frequency of meetings thereafter (but no less often than quarterly)."

Initial plan for lustre.org

Step 1 - DNS

  • Transfer lustre.org domain registration to OpenSFS.org (as agreed in EOFS/OpenSFS management contract)
  • Copy all existing lustre.org DNS entries as starting point.

Step 2 - Main web page

Note: This step can potentially begin immediately, so that we have a lustre.org main web page ready to go when the DNS transfer happens.

Set up a brand new lustre.org main web page. Chris recommends a CMS for the top level pages (perhaps stick with WordPress, similar to lustre.opensfs.org). OpenSFS Lustre Working Group seemed to agree with this plan. The top level CMS pages would largely introduce people to Lustre and direct them to the bulk of the information which would actually mostly like in a lustre.org wiki.

Two main options

  1. start with lustre.opensfs.org, but fix branding to give EOFS equal exposure
  2. start with blank sheet

Step 3 - mailing lists

Move mailing lists to EOFS/OpenSFS hosting. We need to investigate mailing list hosting options. It would be nice to preserve the archives and current list members. That would mean continuing to use mailman. DreamHost offers mailman hosting, and if the mailing lists are tar'ed up, the staff at DreamHost can set them up for us. Not sure how long this would take. Might mean some down time of the lists (probably acceptable), or some lost messages that occur after the snapshot is taken. Open question: will DreamHost mailing list speed be adequate?

Step 4 - Wiki

Set up a new lustre.org wiki. Chris recommends continuing with MediaWiki, and moving existing Lustre content from wiki.opensfs.org as a starting point.
