2.16.0 Release Update

Chris
Found that after failover could not mount filesystem with IPv6; fix was simple but emphasizes the importance of getting sanity-lnet running routinely in Autotest

Peter
Next step is to get a test suite that passes reliably with IPv6 and then we can start running that regularly (optional not enforced at first)

Chris
Patch to disable failing tests is currently in master-next.

James
Getting crash in Autotest run but passes locally; can we access a crash dump?

Peter
Yes. If you indicate in the JIRA ticket which test run you need to access a crash for then we can arrange that. How is manual testing at Sandia going?

Michael
Servers just relocated so should be able to resume this activity.

Upstream Kernel

James

Now have a finite list of things to address before Lustre could be accepted into the kernel. Long pole looks to be interval tree which Neil Brown is working on. Seems like a couple of months work

Cory
Will we be able to get all the check patch fixes merged ahead of 2.16 being finalized?

Peter
Possibly the timing will work out naturally but let's discuss next call

Other Business
Peter
Should look at OpenSFS 2024 survey next call and also start thinking ahead to LUG developer day

Cory
Is the gatekeeper "boil pot" testing now working on RHEL8?

James
One issue left for RHEL8 and should be fixed on RHEL9 (LU-16807/15808)

Peter
We should ideally be running this on RHEL9 anyway! I will talk to Oleg about this tomorrow.
