Wiki documentation

There have only been a few wiki contributions. Much thanks to those who have participated. We still need more effort put into adding wiki content.

Conversation about sidebar. Chris explained that he can update that easily, just let him know when an update is needed.

Some needed content:

  • For Developers
    • How to contribute page -
    • Coding guide lines (move from HPDD wiki and update)

Chris called for volunteers to work on those pages. No volunteers.

Discussion ensued about HLD documents.

There was a suggestiong to set up a DocDB database to serve up Lustre documents.

Some needed content:

  • For System Administors
    • Lustre quick start guide

Chris called for volunteers. Colin volunteered to work on the quick start guide.

Client in upstream tree

Chris relayed that Steve Simms found a couple of people to help out: Chris Hanna, Michael Shuey.

Oleg, James, etc diong a lot of work on this. Difficult at this point to gauge if it will be enough to satisfy upsteam kernel developers.

Much agreement that the up-streaming effort was premature, but we have to deal with the hand that we have been dealt. If we fail to get this into the kernel, it will be extremely difficult to get this into the kernel in the future.

If people want to help, sync up with Oleg to coordinate work.

Static analyzer status

Not much progress on ticket to enable gerrits events.

Ticket open two months, no prediction for when sysadmin will get to it.

Peter does not suspect that it will take long, perhaps in coming couple weeks but could get bumped by higher priority tasks.
